The fit8 personal training studio focuses on rehabilitation and sports physiotherapy in all of their programmes.
We live in the era of Kim Kardashian and Queen Bee (Beyonce) and the current celebrity culture seems to celebrate the curvaceous figure of many women. So when I heardΒ about the new workout programme designed at fit8 to build a booty I jumped at the chance.

When I arrived for my first session my personal trainer Sam showed me to the bike to warm up for ten minutes. He then took me straight to the floor to do what he calledΒ pre-activation exercises. The logic behind these, are that they get your lower body ready to ensure optimum movement.

Sam explained that the success of his programme required the dynamic firing of the glute muscles (bottom muscles) which is why the right warm up progress and sequence of exercises areΒ critical to its success. I went through a series of glute bridges and floor work before progressing to standing band work and sprints which were very strenuous. The main workout consisted of walking lunges with bars and kettle bells – which worked my core muscles as well. It was very challenging and required a lot of mental focus which I enjoyed.

This is a very tailored workout which has its routes in physiotherapy and rehabilitation, which is the back bone of all fit8’s work.
