Centre Court Shopping celebrated its 25th birthday last weekend with a huge party that took over the whole centre. With live performances, discounts, giant cake and guests including the Mayor of Merton, Lady Wimbledon and Eyes of Lady Wimbledon bloggers, this was one birthday party not to be missed.
For drinks, Wimbledon Brewery were there with a pop up bar offering a range of their finest ales and beers and a chance to sit down and enjoy the celebrations around.
Documenting the whole event live, were Lady Wimbledon and the Eyes of Lady Wimbledon bloggers who instantly tweeted all the action whilst presenting for South West London TV.
Lady Wimbledon stayed on her feet all day presenting from every corner of the shopping centre. make-up artist, Becca Gray gave a low-down of the Beauty Bar, and personal stylist, Charlotte Loves was on hand to pick out the top trends, with attention to the colour red.
Food blogger, Sisley White talked treats at Thorntons’ whilst wellness blogger, Feel-Good Flora shared her top picks from Holland & Barrett. Fit-chick, Shelly Palmer was there to speak to Nuffield Health and covered all things fitness around the store and our Culture Vulture picked out the best events from the day.
No birthday is complete without cake. Centre Court celebrated in style with a giant shopping centre cake created by Lakeland and cut by none other than the Mayor of Merton herself. She was joined on stage by Lady Wimbledon, bloggers, Malory and dance performers to sing happy birthday before the confetti cannon went off to huge applause.
With proceeds going towards supporting Crisis, a UK charity for homeless people as well as local charity, Jigsaw4U who were there collecting donations for vulnerable young children, the day was a huge success and an important event bringing the community of Wimbledon together, celebrating the hub of retail in Merton.
