Self-Care – it’s set to be the buzzword of 2018. So as you’re thinking of your New Year’s resolutions for 2018, put taking care of yourself at the top of the list.

Self-care is care provided “for you, by you”. It’s about identifying what makes you feel good and taking the time to do the activities that nurture you.

As we begin our new calendar year, its time to focus on self-care and reducing stress in our lives in 2018. Here are 5 New Year’s resolutions to help you prioritise self-care and your mental health in 2018.

Schedule time for yourself this year

Write it in your diary or create reminders to help you make moments for self-care a more regular part of your daily routine. You can use this time for therapeutic activities, or simply use it to do nothing and chill.

Self Care Reading

Treat yourself like your own bestfriend

Compliments, encouragement, praise and treats. Be good and kind to yourself.

Nourish your social life

Feeling connected to other people is important. It can help you feel valued and confident about yourself, and can give you a different perspective on things.

Regularly detox from social media

Make a resolution to take a day (or more realistically, a few hours) to disconnect from technology.

My Self Care Pack

Engage your different senses in self-care

Try to expand your self-care toolset with tools that intentionally engage your five senses. For scent try essential oils. For touch try cashmere socks.
